Swap it out with a similar one and you're back in business for a few years.ДЄt work there's a few DLink and NetGear 8-port switches lying under tables/behind cabinets/on top of ceilings with printers and the likes plugged in to them, and some of those haven't been power cycled in the time I've been working here. Most of the time when I see a problem with those little cheap switches it is due to the power wall wart dying. Usually the thing that fails is the power transformer. Switches have a lot less going on that routers so they tend to last a lot longer for some reason. For anything under $100 it will last long enough to be worth it and I think yours has a 2 year warranty so you're probably set. However the TPlink has jumbo frame support as well and goes for half the price on Amazon that the one you got does.

The switch you got has jumbo frame support for some reason, that makes it a bit more expensive than it needs to be compared to their cheaper 8 port gigabit switch. I've had a TPlink one in my laundry closet running for the last 6-8 years without issue, I think. Personally I will always go for the metal case small desktop switches like the TPLink ones, they seem to be built better and have some nice features.

However, I would expect it to last at least 5 or 6 if you have clean power and keep it ventilated to some degree. Anything more than a couple years and you have had your money's worth really.
